Ghoom Monastery

Ghoom Monastery which is also of known as Yiga Choeline monastery of Ghoom and about 10 Km from Darjeeling is one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries of this locality and located at an altitude of around 7,000 ft. There is a 15 feet long Maitreya Buddha inside the Monastery and in front of the  Buddha's statue there are  big oil lamps that keep burning all of the time and all through the year.
